Daily Schedule

Polar Bear: "Polar Bear, Polar Bear, Rah, Rah, Rah. Polar Bear, Polar Bear, Hah, Hah, Hah! I love the polar bear challenge. I am glad I did it each morning and earned the Polar Bear T-Shirt. There's no better way to start the day!"

Bethany - Junior

Go Getters: "It's great to get up and do something fun and energizing before Breakfast. My favorite was doing Pilates in the Tipi with the beach and waves in the background."

Lisa - Senior

Flag Raising: "I love raising the flag and sharing the Morning Breadcrumb before entering the Dining Hall in silence. I felt like I could maybe inspire everyone with a though, maybe change the kind of day they would have."

Gregory - Challenger

Inspection: "I can't say that I love cleaning the cabin, but it's great to earn a perfect score and then watch my leader wear the "Cleanest Cabin Hat" for the day."

Tom - Darer

Spiritual Insights: "I liked the SI when we all talked about our religions and what we believed. I learned so much about my cabin. I learned a lot about other religions too. I got to know my cabin better."

Katie - Senior

Interest Group 1: "I never thought I could do something like pottery. I found out that I was pretty good. Centering the clay was hard, but once I got it, it was fun."

Sandra - Piper

Activity Period: "This is my favorite part of the day. I love the games that we play against each other. And I think this year the Creeks are going to win the paddle which is awesome!"

Max - Senior Pioneer

Lunch: "The best part is the song challenges...well, I really like Stomp, too...and the Primal Scream on the porch...and of course, Taco Tuesday!"

Peter - Darer

Rest Hour: "It's nice to take a break after lunch. I have really enjoyed reading and sometimes I write home to my parents. I may have slept once or twice also."

Claire - Junior

Assembly: "My favorite assembly skits are "Kung-Fu Theatre", "Dance Move Dave", and "Louisiana Boy". It was fun watching the "Wheel of Destiny" to decide our skit for the Low Council. Assembly is fun."

Drew - Challenger

Interest Group 2: "Sailing is my favorite activity at camp. I remember the day I received my 'Skipper's certification' and was able to take out the boats on my own after that."

Stephanie - Junior

Interest Group 3: "The challenge course was so much fun. Climbing the poles and walking across the Catwalk was harder than it looked from the ground. The support from the other campers on the ground helped a lot."

Anna - Senior

Free Time: "My friends and I played Ultimate Frisbee almost every day. I learned how to throw the 'Hammer' out on Bryant Field. There were always a couple of leaders down there to help us organize, but we just played until the dinner bell rang."

Josh - Challenger

Dinner: "The dinners at camp are great, like when we saw the "Leader Frolic" and we all did the elegant dining together. Some of the costumes were so funny. The best meal was the chicken nuggets."

Sarah - Piper

Nights Doings: "The best time was when our cabin floated down the creek. We saw a lot of fish. Our leader pointed out the turtles under Turtle Bridge. We almost missed them because they looked like rocks blending in."

Kevin - Darer

Evening Reflections: "I still remember my first evening reflection when I was a Piper. We were out on the beach watching the sun set over Lake Michigan. The cabin was talking about love and how it was a part of everything. They sang a pretty song as the sky turned orange and red. It was amazing and beautiful. Every reflection since then has been just as amazing."

Tara - Junior

Councils: "When I first camp to camp, I wondered what the Council Circle was for. Over the last three years that I have been coming to camp, I look forward the most to our Councils. Each one is different and I always learn more about the past and the traditions of Miniwanca. I look forward to the day that I can be a fire keeper."

James - Challenger

Regatta: "We went down to the waterfront as a cabin and there was the whole camp. Kids were swimming while others were taking out the canoes and kayaks. I got on a sailing team and we competed for the prize. it was a great day. We did not win the race, but the wind and the boats were great."

Stephen - Challenger

Talent Show: "There were so many great acts like the boy band dance crew, the ballerina, the broom stomp club, the guitar trio and the funny skits. It made me think of what I could do next year for the show."

Mary - Junior
