Take a look around....

Lake Michigan: Miniwanca sits on one mile of pristine Lake Michigan waterfront. Two of our lodges and program area spaces in West Camp have this spectacular view.
Stony Lake: The mist over Stony Lake during a sunrise is a spectacular view that everyone should see during their time at Miniwanca. Stony Lake is a small, inland lake that connects to Lake Michigan by a winding creek. Stony Lake is the perfect setting for a variety of waterfront activities including swimming, sailing, canoeing, kayaking, windsurfing, and fishing.

Stony Lake Trail: This trail connects our East and West Camp areas. As you walk along this trail, you get some of the best views of Stony Lake and Stony Creek.

Old Baldy: This incredible dune makes East Camp so unique. From the top of Old Baldy you can see both Lake Michigan and Stony Lake. The dune is a favorite spot for hikes, dune ecology, and playing during free time.
Lodging: Groups may select from two types of overnight accommodations, either Dorm or Cabin lodging.
Dorms: The Four Seasons Lodge, Seay Building, and Compton living spaces provide dorm-style living. Dorms include rooms for 2-4 people, community bathrooms located within the building, and meeting spaces. Electricity and carpeted areas are also provided in these living spaces.
Cabins: Each cabin includes beds for up to 8 people. A group of cabins is called a "bay" and is made up of single cabins and "duplex" cabins. A duplex cabin is two cabins adjoined with a smaller room between that has beds for 1-2 people. Community bathrooms are located in the center of the bay, just a few steps from the cabin.

Bathrooms: A bay of cabins share a "BIFF" (Bathroom In Friendly Forest). Our BIFFs have electricity, hot water, and private dressing stalls.

Eating Lodge: This is more than a just place to get three meals a day. It is a fun and exciting place where songs are sung and birthdays are celebrated. Students eat with their peers and meals are served family style.

Activity Center: This building serves a variety of purposes. It houses breakout rooms, as well as an indoor climbing wall, high ropes course, and team challenge course. The barn doors open up to an outdoor stage.
Bryant Field: This 110-yard field hosts athletic activities such as basketball, soccer, and frisbee. Whole group activities and many other "Nights Doings" also take place here. Many groups will engage in teambuilding activities here before entering the adjacent outdoor climbing wall, team challenge course, and high ropes course.

Challenge Course: Miniwanca has an outdoor Climbing Wall, Team Challenge Course, and a High Ropes Challenge Course. All activities at camp are both intentional and age-appropriate. Students experience challenging activities with their leadership group during their experience at Miniwanca.

Council Circle: This unique
historical place hosts some of Miniwanca's strongest traditions. The Council Ceremony is recognized as one of the most cherished moments of students' experiences. During the ceremony, only the light of the fire illuminates the faces of students as songs and memories are shared.

Craft House: One of the most loved buildings in West Camp. The craft house has brought years of joy and creativity to students and staff alike. Students may have the option to explore their creative sides during free time.
Miniwanca has several places throughout East and West Camp for leadership groups to gather for small group activities.
Gathering Spot: The Assembly is one of our most historical buildings on West Camp. It is used for rainy day activities, team challenges, large group gatherings, and "Night's Doings". The indoor stage and outdoor amphitheater makes this building a favorite of students and staff.

Gathering Spot: The Upper Tipi is another historical building in West Camp. Like the Assembly, it is used for rainy day activities, team challenges, and "Night's Doings". The porch of the Upper Tipi has a wonderful view of Lake Michigan. Inside the Upper Tipi are murals that tell the story of the founding of the American Youth Foundation (AYF).

Gathering Spot: The Ohle Interfaith Center is a unique, octagonal building used for meditation, reflection, interfaith services, or small gatherings. The view of Lake Michigan is breathtaking and provides the perfect backdrop to this spectacular building in West Camp.

Gathering Spot: Our Murphy Memorial is one of many unique
meeting spaces on East Camp. Murphy Memorial is used for small group gatherings.

Gathering Spot: The Orwig Chapel is an open air amphitheater overlooking Stony Lake. It provides a spectacular view for those seated inside.

Gathering Spot: One of East Camp's historical buildings is Stonyview. It is used for team challenge activities, large group gatherings, and "Night's Doings". The patio overlooks Stony Lake and is ideal for rainy day activities.

Not much can compare to closing the day with a Lake Michigan sunset! Lake Michigan sunsets are unforgettable and breathtaking. Students often enjoy the sunset during evening reflections.
